Tracey Mershon, Partner
With 20 years experience in marketing communications, Tracey Mershon has created and implemented many highly successful public relations and marketing programs that produce positive outcomes for clients. Her unique career path includes a background in journalism, corporate public relations, nonprofit management, and consulting. Tracey has been a marketing communications consultant for 12 years; eight of those years as co-owner of Mershon & McDonald. She has been named one of Kansas City’s Up and Comers of the Year, and she has received several coveted first-place PRSIM Awards from the Public Relations Society of America. Prior to starting her own consulting business, Tracey worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City where she launched the Caring Program for Children, offering health insurance coverage to needy children. She also was the founding editor of Kansas City Live!, a monthly magazine covering business, local activities and the arts, and read by more than 100,000 households. Tracey holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Ellen McDonald, Partner
With diverse professional interests in health care, community development, the fine arts and children's advocacy, Ellen has led major philanthropic programs throughout her 20+ years. Her main interest is assisting organizations in building their capacity and fulfilling their mission. Ellen has been a nonprofit management consultant for 10 years and her expertise includes strategic and communications planning and training. She has served in a variety of management positions in the nonprofit industry. During her tenure as Executive Director for the Caring Program for Children, her stewardship culminated in the organization's recognition for the 1996 Honor Roll Award from Kansas City's Partnership for Children. She has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities with positions at the United Nations’ training nongovernmental organization, the International Peace Academy, Starlight Theater and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. She received her B.A. from Grinnell College and pursued graduate studies at the London School of Economics, and received her Masters in Nonprofit Management from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.
